To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour...

Boy
For the first time in my life I wish I was a boy. I could then get into one of these sleazy looking cabs and be on my way to Bombay, instead of waiting endlessly for a bus.
Uff.
Ha ha yeah i too wish i was a guy at times when i want to go to a road side stall and gorge on biryani at mid night. I m sure u r aware of Bade Miyan in Colaba.
@Cutey:> There is a very thick line between courage and wisdom! You dont wanna get into those rashly driven, filled with ruffians cabs!
@Psy:> I always had a hunch you fancied women! :P
@Ria:> You dont have to be a guy to come to Bade Miyan's!
@All:> Why do you wanna be a guy? You wanna despise shopping for hours in the malls? You wanna stop being able to cry at the movies? You wanna start being filthy? You wanna start being lazy and irresponsible? You wanna be egotistical? You wanna start thinking from below your waist instead of thinking from above it? You wanna start being chauvinistic? You wanna end up prioritising the work you do over spending valuable time with your loved ones? You wanna end up sweating like pigs? ~Sigh~ Why?
@psy->lol... thank you for the warm welcome! ;) @ria-> ofcourse! though the rains are not a good time to eat there... @biki->courage, wisdom, balh, blah. if i want to go to bombay then i want to go now. i saw boys getting into those cabs. and as a boy, the worst thing that can happen to me in that cab is a robbery. however, as a girl... @biki (again)-> no we do not want to be all that! god! but yes, we want the freedon that comes with being a boy... the getting up and going anywhere at anytime, the getting into any sleazy cab, the taking a panga with an auto driver without really being fearful that this guy can do bad things to me wen i return from office at night...that is what we want...
The getting up and going anywhere at anytime part, I can't argue with! But the cab thingy is worse for guys...the things that happen to women are rather disturbing I agree but also, are random acts that take place occasionally. For guys, being sworn at and not-so-occasionally getting a fist in the face is common place. And you can't take pangas with rikwallahs...they're rather prone to getting out of their ricks and coming to blows. Do you know, rickwallahs are scared of arguing with women too much for fear of being beaten by a mob. And dont get me started on the trains...God, when a women climbs into the general compartment, she gets so much more space than us guys do...sheesh! But yeah...lets end the argument here. I dont wanna be a hypocrite...I've never wanted to be a woman after all! :P
Ahhh...you're really boring! Pune is sooooooo beautiful in the rains...especially where you live! Waste art thou! And btw, why are you complaining about not being unable to step out whenever you like? You live by yourself in a different city!
exactly my point. alone. in a foreign city. with no dad to drive me around, no sister to back me up in a fight with an auto walla and no mom to comfort me when the night makles howling noises. pune is beautiful, agreed. it would have been better if i were allowed to stay indoors to enjoy this beauty, and not made to travle to work on roads with craters and snarling traffic jams. not to mention the cols (did i mention wet too?) and damp air.
