Children of a lesser God versus Children of the Devil

From the past few days I have been noticing very strongly 2 different types of people in my world.
The sweeper in my office, the cleaning lady, the canteen boy who picks up my plate. Mild, unassuming they go about doing their work hoping to be inconspicous, not making eye contact and actually trying to not get noticed. When I say thank you, when I smile at them they get startled and scamper off hoping they didn't do anything wrong. These are the Children of a lesser God and my heart goes out to them. What did I do to get so much more then them in life? For them I wish abundant happines, prosperity and good luck - God knows they deserve it. For being so dedicated, so nice and so hardworking.

Then there is the second type of people - the autodrivers, the domestic help at home, the milkman. Aggressive, irritating and assholic they behave as if they own the world. They go about doing favors, not working. He is doing me a favor by letting me sit in his auto, she is doing me a favor by sweeping my floor - never mind that both are charging me exorbitant amounts of money for whatever it is that they are doing. These are the Children of the Devil and I wish with my whole heart that nothing good ever happens to them. May they live and die exactly like they are born - lowly guttural creatures. They don't deserve any better.

Until next time...

Now you're being completely naive!
I hope, you do realise that it is that little kid getting you chai that is gonna be your milkman, your rickshawalla and the ilk tomorrow...and their sour attitude comes from us children with our riches treating them unequally.
Try speaking nicely to a rikwalla when he's being sour and he will be nice to you too!
The world is a mere reflection of the waves we send out after all!
(Not that I am inplying you're rude, I just mean, when someone else is rude, if you still relax and keep your calm, it doesnt take too long for your calmness to rub off on them! Try it!)

There's a mama at my office who mans the entrance. He's old-ish, quiet, perfect in behaviour. And every day he has to come to work and just stand there and he's so nice to us in a non-intrusive way, while earning far, far less, but deserving probably more than 10 times.

I feel sick whenever I think that I'm earning so much more but I just dont know what to do... its just not fair sometimes.

Such is life. And then you look and there's so many, many people around u, you can't change the way it is for them all, there's nothing you can do.

:(

Nothing. Their number, too vast, our contribution, too tiny to make a difference, and no, all that hogwash they tell us about each one doing their bit will make the difference is just that - hogwash. :(
