When the world seems blue,
When the skies are grey,
Look around for a silver lining,
There has to be one.

When you find nothing new,
In this world that was once so gay,

And you don't have the strength to do anything – even pray,

And look at smiling faces like they're committing a crime,

And you don't know why, but you do know you mourn,
Look around for a silver lining,

When your life, at best, seems to suck,
And about it no one seems to care a fuck,

When the situation seems bleak,
And your conscience falls weak,

When you feel like you can't breathe,
You can't face the music, can't take the heat,
Look around for a silver lining,

When you fee like all is lost,
And you can't get it back – not at any cost,
Look around for a silver lining,

After all is said and done,
And you've exhausted all other idea's – for their money given them a run,
Look around for a silver lining,
For there always has to be one!
